    A simple recipe for a popular dessert.

    Let's get started. (Click Step 1 to the right.)

  • Step 1: Gather Ingredients

    Here's what you'll need:

    1 (18.35 oz.) package yellow cake mix, or 4 layers of your favorite recipe
    2 (8 oz.) cartons sour cream
    2 cups confectioners' sugar
    1 (12 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
    1 (12 oz.) package frozen grated coconut, thawed

  • Step 2: Mix Topping & Bake Cake

    Combine sour cream, sugar, whipped topping and coconut, saving some coconut to sprinkle on top of cake. Refrigerate while baking cake - follow directions on cake mix box to bake the cake.

  • Step 3: Ice the Cake

    When layers are cool, spread tops and sides with icing and top with remaining coconut.

  • Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

    Place cake in tightly covered cake server and refrigerate 3 days before serving. Click here to download the instructions to help make it.
